Photo Tours

(Under Construction: Hard hats must be worn in this area.)

When you’re making up a world (or two) it’s a good idea to have a visual reference. These are mine. I decided to let Tab lead the tours of the Inbetween, Underneath, and Witchwood Manor and asked her to get someone to help her with each. I hope they behave. (Note: These pictures were all swiped by me, mostly from pinterest, but from other places too. I don’t own any of them. Many thanks to the talented people who took these gorgeous photographs and then shared them with the world. If you see something you shot here, please let me know and I’ll be happy to give you complete credit.

  1. I just finished reading book one. It was such a good story I cant wait to book two. I hope I don’t forget about it come December. I give 5 stars. Great first book!

    • Hi Sandy,

Thanks so much for the kind words! I’m hard at work editing book 2 already and I promise Tab Bennett and the Underneath will be ready to go in December.

        • Very good advice, Kst. Alternatively, if you lean out your window in early December, you may be able to hear me shouting about it from the rooftops. = ) I get pretty excited about that kind of thing.

  2. Just finished reading book one. it was amazingly written and the interactions with Tab and all the characters were brilliant and believable. I can’t pit into words how impatient I am tor book two! Is it December YET?!?!

    • Thanks Ashley. I totally needed that. I’m going to post a wee excerpt of book 2 on my facebook page tomorrow just for you. Best, Jes

  3. Just finished 2nd book. Thank you for a well written and engaging series. Am so looking forward to next one. Cant wait till Tab sets all right.

  4. Just finished reading book 2! I don’t want to spoil anything, but please tell me we haven’t heard the last from a certain fav character of mine!!!
I’ve really enjoyed this series so far! Please hurry on book 3!!

    • I refer you to the authors note at the end of Underneath. It in turn will refer you to The Princess Bride. The answer to your question is right in that movie. = )

  5. I will definitely be putting the May 2013 release date in my calendar- I can’t believe how these books have reeled me in! In this one weekend I’ve devoured them both. In this day and age, it seems like there’s no such thing as a “new idea” but you’e really found one with Tab and her story! I love feeling like we really know the characters and it will be a long few months to wait for the rest of the story!

    • Hi Hannah, I’m so glad you’re enjoying Tab’s story. It’s been really fun to write and share with readers. I’m working on Here & There now and it’s really coming along. I just hit that magic part where the story just starts going. It’ll be in your hands before you know it.

      • I am SO in love with your books! Each took me a little more than a day, in between life with a 3 year old and a full-time job. (I had to force myself to leave the books at home, so I wouldn’t be tempted to read at work.)
I was wondering, was there maybe a piece of Book One that was cut out? In “Underneath” it mentioned that Tab had tried to travel with Robin and Waverly…. Of course I remembered the attempted trip with Robin, but I couldn’t remember anything with George or Matt….
Inconsistencies tend to stick in my head, so I was hoping maybe you could point me in the right direction to find the piece I’d forgotten in “Inbetween” (it’s not quiet keeping me up at night, but it’s close).
And I’d like to volunteer to proof-read anything you want to send me. I’ve done it a few times for a friend (she put a quote from me on the cover of one book: http://www.comfortpublishing.com/bedinaswar.html).
Ok, I’ll stop rambling after one more comment – I LOVE that toothpaste was what excited Tab the most when she got her pack back, in Underneath. That is EXACTLY why I am in love with your books! 🙂

        • Hi Kelly. I love my books and I especially love it when someone writes to tell me they love them too! Thanks so much. It really does make my day to know that I’m partly responsible for lower productivity in workplaces around the country.

Now on to the glaring inconsistencies…. For the life of me, I can’t remember a time (aside from toward the end of Underneath) when Tab appears or disappears with George or Matt. I wish I had some good excuse for that but I don’t. When I’m writing I go back into the text and make all kinds of little changes all the time. Sometimes I’ll add something and take it out and then add it again somewhere else. Sometimes, as a result, things like this get left behind. I’m a little embarrassed…so in an effort to make amends, here’s what happened:

“That just doesn’t happen,” George insisted.
“It did,” I said. I blushed remembering Robbin’s hands and mouth on my skin. The feeling of his body pressed against mine. “It definitely did.”
“That was all you, darlin’,” he said, “because that magic doesn’t work that way.”
I shrugged. Whether George believed it or not, the magic that made it possible for the Elvish to pop in and out of places with little more than a thought also made me horny as hell.
“You don’t believe me?” he asked. One thing about George, he couldn’t let a challenge like that go. He had to prove that he was right. He’d always been that way.
“Nope,” I said. One thing about me, I kind of thought it was funny to goad him.
“Let’s try it right now,” he said, pulling me to my feet.
          “No.”
“Yes,” he replied. “I’m going to drop the enchantments and we’re going to try it right now. I’ll pop us into the kitchen where you can make me dinner as penance for being wrong and stubborn.”
“All right,” I said, “but don’t blame me when you arrive in the kitchen with my hands on your ass.” Honestly, that would’ve been the best case scenario.
I felt the magic push away in sudden, loud sigh as he lowered the enchantments that protected the Manor.
“You can still back out,” I said.
He smirked. “Are you admitting that you’re wrong?”
          I shook my head.
“Then come to papa,” he said, opening his arms.
“You’re disgusting.” I stepped into his arms and he smiled at me.
“Nothing is going to happen,” he said.
He called his magic. It came in, quick and light and sweet. It touched my skin, rubbed against my body, and pressed me toward George more surely than a hand on my back would have. I said his name in one quick breath and reached up to bring his mouth down to mine. That was when he shoved me away, surprising me and breaking the spell.
“What the hell was that?” he asked.

So there you go, Kelly. Let’s assume it went something like that. = )

PS: Toothpaste and clean undies is exactly what I would miss if I was on a quest without my pack.

  6. I really want to read your book series Princess of Twilight and Dawn but I cannot seem to get ahold of them. Where could I purchase them?

    • Hi Nicole, Thanks for your interest in my books. The Princess of Twilight and Dawn series was recently purchased by MP Publishing, which is great for me but (sadly) means you’ll have to wait until 9/10/13 to purchase the first book which has been renamed The Uncovering. I really hope you’ll pick it up when it comes out. In the meantime, I’ve got a few short stories up here on the blog and I’m always working on others. Check back in once in a while.

    • Hi Sara, Sadly it means we’re probably going to have to wait until fall of 2015 to read the third book. It could be sooner though. Please stay tuned! In the meantime, can I interest you in a short story that features George, a Norn, and a little light BDSM? Let me know and I’ll post it for you.

  7. That explains why I can’t find the books as well. I just finished book one which I had dowloaded for my Kindle. Do you know when the publishing company plans to release the second book? Or the third? And wha they’ll be calling those?

    • Hi Liz, I’m not sure exactly when book 2 will be out but if I had to guess, I’d say fall of 2014 and then book 3 in 2015 since The Uncovering (formerly known as TB & the InB) is coming out in September of this year. That seems like a really long time from now, doesn’t it? I’m so sorry!! What can I do to make it up to you?

  8. I’m a little late in saying this but congratulations on the book series getting picked up by a publisher! Can’t wait to start the series again! The new release date is going in my ical asap 🙂

  9. So I just finished reading the first book to find out that you’ve sold the rights to a publisher and I won’t be able to read the second book until I don’t even know when. This is deeply upsetting considering the amazing story the first book told. When exactly is Underneath comin out?? I’d like to roughly estimate how much hair I’m going to tear out from frustration before then.

    • Please do not destroy what I’m sure is a lovely head of hair over my book. The Uncovering will be out this Fall 2013 so I assume Underneath will be out next Fall 2014. That’s a long time from now. I know. I’m sorry. But being bald isn’t going to make the waiting any easier. 🙂

      • It was a mild over exaggeration. I shall keep all of my hairs in their designated follicles but Fall 2014 is an awfully long wait. Is there goin to be any significant changes to the story line of the first book??

        • The one down side of having a publisher is that I had to give up a lot of control…and I have some control issues so that wasn’t easy to do…

Anyway, there are some changes to the first book. Good changes that I think we’re all going to be happy with. Unless you’re a Robbin enthusiast. Then maybe not so much…

  10. Is there a specific reason for the dates of release of the books? Never sure how this stuff works. I’ll need to go back and read the first one. But that’s ok! LOVE that book.

    • The publisher is excited to get the first book out this fall and then I guess one a year is pretty standard. It may be faster though… I honestly don’t know.

  11. I’m so confused. I purchased and read Tab Bennett & the In between, the read Underneath from the kindle lending library. My daughter has now read the first book and asked for the second, but I can no longer find it anywhere. Are the Uncovering and the Delving those books being re-released?

    • Hi Meredith,

First of all, I’m so sorry for the confusion. No wait, first of all, thank you for reading and liking my books enough to be confused and seek answers. I really, really appreciate that. Second, I’m so sorry for the confusion. The Uncovering and The Delving are indeed the first two books being re-released by my publisher. I will let everyone know as soon as I find out when the second book, which you read as Underneath, will be available. I’m not entirely sure when the third book will be out but I’m working away on it even as we speak. Please tell your daughter the second book is worth the wait and the third one…well…it’s going to knock your socks off.

  12. I have to ask LOVED The delving , just wondering what the plans for book three? Whats the wait time look like for it?

  13. I just love this series and I can’t find anything that tells us when the third book will be coming out.I am also wondering if there will be a fourth book.

    • Hi Colby, I am so close to finishing the third book, which will be called The Homecoming by the way, that I can see the finish line. I promise to let you know as soon as possible when it will be available. Although I’ll miss her, The Homecoming will complete the tale of Tab & co. But don’t worry – we’ll be leaving Tab, but there are lots of other stories to tell in her world and she may pop up again in later stories.

  14. Omg jes I’m so excited. I can’t sotto read it. I check all the time lol. Hope u jade a good Valentine’s day btw. Back to the ok t my b-day is coming up in March, so I was wondering if u could possibly give me the date I can buy it on as a gift lol. Have a great day. Xoxo
